So I am 8 weeks pregnant today. I found out June 29th, the day after my baby turned 1. Dave was not home when I took the test. That night we were celebrating my niece’s birthday with the family so I wrote him a cute little card and wrapped up the test in a box. Just before everyone was ready to go home I had Dave open the box. My mom was the only one who had a feeling on what was going on. Dave had no clue what was happening even after he saw the test stick. He was thinkin, "what is this?" It was funny! :0)
We were going to start trying right around now so it happened a little earlier then we thought is would. It took about 20 glances at the result before I convinced myself it was for real. It seems unreal that I am going to be a mother of 3, crazy stuff. But we are so excited!
We would like to have a girl, but if this one isn't it that's ok. We plan this one as our last though. So far I feel pretty good. I have a hard time eating sometimes. I'm just not hungry. But it can't be that bad cause I forget I'm pregnant all the time. I am excited to start feeling the baby move and look pregnant.
The plan for when the baby gets here is to move Jack to Gage's room into a bunk bed. I am not excited about that, they make me nervous. but we have small rooms so we would have a hard time fitting 2 beds in there otherwise. But I think they will enjoy sharing a room at least until we can move to a bigger house. So the baby will get the nursery room. We hope to have the basement finished by then so we can have a play/living room. Then we can move all the big toys down there, which will give us a lot more space.
The birthing plan thus far (I have yet to make it official, I have my first appointment with my midwife on Aug. 5th) is to have the baby at a birthing center. I want a water birth for a few reasons. I would love to be a midwife some day so I figured it would be a good idea to experience it for myself at least once. They say water babies tend to be more clam. going from womb to the dry air is a hard transition so being birthed in the water is a lot smoother for the baby. I will have to do this all natural so that has me worried a little but they say the water is very relaxing so it should help. There are many other reasons, far too many to list. But the benefits out weigh the risks so I am going for it. My first 2 births were not bad but they could have been better. This is my last so I want it to be great! I will only be able to stay at the center for 4 hours after giving birth. But I have heard when you are not drugged and do it all natural the recovery is a ton faster so I hope I will be good to go.
I will post again after my appointment...
Thanks for reading! :0)
